Mr Pollock is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Qualifying over 20 years ago from University College London School of Medicine, he now specialises in hip and knee surgery as well as bone and soft tissue tumours (sarcoma).
Mr Pollock tailors care to the needs of patients and takes the time to ensure patients understand the treatment and procedures he recommends. He works closely with other healthcare professional including therapists to provide holistic patient care.
Mr Pollock’s orthopaedic training took place in various London teaching hospitals including UCLH, St Mary’s and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He undertook international fellowships in Australia and USA where he gained experience in hip and knee replacement, sarcoma (bone and soft tissue tumours) and secondary bone cancer.
In 2008, Mr Pollock was awarded the prestigious American, British and Canadian (ABC) Fellowship by the British Orthopaedic Association and spent six weeks visiting the premier orthopaedic units in North America. It was an extremely valuable learning experience. He has also been awarded seven NHS Clinical Excellence Awards.
Mr Pollock remains active in clinical research and has published over 100 papers so far. He is often invited to lecture at national and international academic meetings. He is also a passionate teacher and is an instructor on many of the postgraduate courses at the RNOH and beyond. In 2021 he was honoured to host the annual congress of the European Musculo-Skeletal Oncology Society in London and in 2023 he was elected President of the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society.
In his spare time he is a keen runner, cyclist and open water swimmer. In 2016 he completed a full Ironman triathlon.
