Biography

Dr Rick Seah is a Private Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine (SEMM) at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust in Stanmore, where he is also the Clinical Lead for Rheumatology, Metabolic Bone Disease & SEMM services. He is a consultant appraiser within the Trust.

Professional Roles

Holding the positions of Medical Lead for the Stanmore NHS Dance Injury Clinic and an Honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science (IOMS), University College London. Additional professional roles include chairing the Royal College of Physicians’ SEM Committee and UK Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine Council’s RCP representative.

Education

With interests in Medical Education, Dr Rick Seah examines for FSEM(UK) and the University of Bath. Qualifying in medicine in London from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals (GKT) Medical School in 1999, he then went on to study for a Master’s degree in Sport & Exercise Medicine (obtained with distinction), from University College London (UCL) in 2005.

Experience

Accumulating over a decade of experience, he has trained over a period of 12 years in the NHS and is doubly accredited as a specialist and generalist. Previously working for the English Institute of Sport (EIS), British Fencing, British Canoeing and GB Wheelchair Tennis. Further clinical positions include, being a Medical Officer for the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon (2010-14) and on the event medical team at Wembley National Stadium (2007 – 09). Dr Rick Seah was a sports physician at both the Olympic & Paralympic Games in London 2012.
