Mr Albert Ngu
Mr Albert Ngu is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. He offers both anterior and posterior approaches to hip replacement, tailored to individual patient anatomy and pathology, and performs total and partial knee replacements, including complex revision procedures.
Training
He completed his specialist training on the East of England rotation, including placements at major trauma centres such as Addenbrooke’s Hospital and The Royal London. He subsequently undertook prestigious fellowships in Calgary, Canada, and at St George’s Hospital, London, focusing on complex arthroplasty, direct anterior hip surgery, and pelvic and acetabular reconstruction.
Expertise
Mr Ngu has expertise in day-case joint replacement and is ROSA robot-certified, with a growing interest in the integration of robotic technology into routine surgical practice. His clinical interests include the management of failed joint replacements, periprosthetic fractures, and challenging revision scenarios.
He is a strong advocate of evidence-based practice and has led audits and quality improvement projects that have directly enhanced patient care across several NHS trusts. He is also a reviewer for the Bone & Joint Journal and has received multiple accolades, including the Trinity Cup for the most accomplished trainee on the Cambridge rotation.
Known for his calm and collaborative approach, Mr Ngu is committed to delivering patient-centred care with clear communication and high surgical standards.
